Khronos Group, responsible for the development of multimedia open standards, issued by the official specification of the standard OpenGL 3.1. The new version represents the evolution of the previous OpenGL 3.0 marks with improvements in performance and simpler implementation on different platforms.
OpenGL 3.1 brings several types of buffer objects, new possibilities for handling ç textures and primitives as well as possibilities of instance, or simply create more of the same objects. There is also a new version of the language ç for the GLSL 1.40 shading with greater flexibility in the handling of newer hardware and management textures and buffer.
Functionality OpenGL version 1.x and 2.x has been omitted from this release, but the developers have at their disposal a set of optional extensions OpenGL ARB, which should ensure full compatibility with older versions.
