Hip-hop has been fascinated with the late graffiti writer/painter Jean-Michel Basquiat ever since Swizz Beatz displayed his artwork on Reebok sneakers ascii art and Jay Z referenced him on ‘Picasso Baby.’
Watchmaker Komono has partnered with the Basquiat estate to create a line of six timepieces that boasts the artist’s most creative works on the wristbands. All of the water-resistant watches feature a metal display, Japanese Quartz movement, a stainless steel back and come in a printed ascii art case of Basquiat’s painting.
